Nestled in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine du Banneret is a historic, family-run estate producing wines that embody the region's rich heritage. With roots tracing back to 1405, the estate has been meticulously maintained by the Vidal family, who uphold traditional winemaking practices passed down through generations. The 5-hectare vineyard, managed organically, is planted with all 13 grape varieties permitted in the appellation, including Grenache noir, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, contributing to the complexity of their wines. The vines, averaging 70 years in age, yield approximately 13,000 bottles annually, reflecting a commitment to quality over quantity. Winemaking at Domaine du Banneret involves co-fermentation of whole clusters with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging in oak barrels, resulting in wines that are unfined, unfiltered, and expressive of their terroir.
