Nestled in the heart of La Brède, just 20 kilometers southeast of Bordeaux, Château Bichon Cassignols is a historic estate that has been producing wine since 1919. Owned and operated by Jean-François and Marie Lespinasse, the château spans 12.5 hectares of vineyards situated on deep gravel soils characteristic of the Graves appellation. Committed to sustainable viticulture, the estate achieved full organic certification in 2012 and employs innovative techniques, such as the use of a "vitimobile," to enhance manual vineyard work while preserving the environment. The red wines, primarily blends of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, are known for their supple tannins and rich fruit flavors, while the whites, dominated by Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, offer freshness and floral notes. Notably, the 2019 vintage of their Graves Rouge received a gold medal at the Challenge Millésime Bio, reflecting the estate's dedication to quality and tradition. As the Lespinasse family prepares for their final year of activity in 2025, Château Bichon Cassignols stands as a testament to a century of passionate winemaking.
