André Ruhlmann
He is the face behind the family’s slogan, “Créateur de vins” (Creator of Wines). Having spent his entire life among the vines, André loves taking the time to share his discoveries—some of them accidental—made along his journey with wine. L’Étoile de Rose, Le Péché de Sylvaner, Pinot Gris—each new cuvée is the result of a long refinement process, with a story uniquely its own. Rather than relying on technical jargon to impress novices, he prefers to describe his wines through the language of sensation. It’s no coincidence that he favors the term "gardens," inspired by the German Weingarten, which carries a more poetic meaning, deeply connected to the land and its values.
In conversation, this former musician often uses the analogy of a conductor to describe his meticulous work, explaining that a great wine is the sum of countless small actions—from respecting nature and its energies to carefully tending the vines. This philosophy becomes evident when walking through the vineyard, where André sees even the stones as benevolent creatures. His passion for the land is more than just a profession; it’s a legacy that he devoutly passes on to his children.
